Rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation is about helping people regain or enhance participation in their daily occupations after life changing illness, injury or surgery which includes:

  • Brain Injury
  • Stroke
  • Neurological conditions
  • Amputation/Orthopaedic injury
  • Long term conditions

Following a thorough and comprehensive assessment to evaluate your physical, cognitive, and emotional needs, we work together to identify areas of difficulty and agree specific actions to remedy these. I offer a focused, creative, and practical approach that will enable you to overcome the barriers preventing you from participating fully in the occupations of daily life. It is very easy to focus on what we can no longer do, I work with you to identify what you can do.

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” —

Later Life.

The quality of life and our purpose inevitably changes in later life, which can often leave us feeling less capable, frustrated, or even defeated and anxious. Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping those in later life maintain their independence, improve their quality of life, and overcome challenges related to ageing. This may include considering adaptative equipment or home modifications, cognitive strategies to support memory, fatigue management or support for family members/carers.

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” —

C. S. Lewis

From time-to-time there will be clients who require specialised resources as part of their rehabilitation from injury or accidents. Before appointing these specialists, you need to feel confident you are placing your client in safe and trusted hands.
