Helping you through your rehabilitation journey and supporting you on the path to live well.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Everything we do is occupation …..

Our every movement, every action, every activity, each and every day, is classed as occupation.

Occupational Therapy (often referred to as OT), is a collaborative approach to identify the changes, modifications, or adaptations needed to enable individuals to engage in their daily occupations after experiencing illness or injury.

From getting out of bed, getting dressed, preparing a meal, going to work, or pursuing a favourite hobby, the primary role of occupational therapy is to find solutions to the barriers preventing our ability to live life fully.

This could mean modifying the environment – so, where a person lives or works, it could involve adapting how they approach an activity, or it may be a combination of both.

The objective is to work together to overcome these challenges leaving you with renewed hope, vitality and enjoyment of as full and active life as possible.

Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is about helping people regain or enhance participation in their daily occupations after life changing illness, injury or surgery.

Later Life

The quality of life and our purpose inevitably changes in later life, which can often leave us feeling less capable, frustrated, or even defeated and anxious.

Lifestyle Occupational Therapy

Lifestyle medicine is an approach to healthcare that focuses on promoting evidence-based lifestyle interventions to prevent, treat, and manage chronic conditions.
